I was having a problem with the floating selvedge going loose on me as I had them going under a pile of books. I took two pill canisters and filled them with bird seed then placed the thread over the top and screwed the caps on. It works great but I'm afraid I may be weakening the thread at those points so I'll have to come up with something else I suppose.
