Jessica's Interests

Ah, hello, greetings and salutations, welcome to my hobby space. As yet there are no examples other than in my 3D and sketchbook pages and I hope you have or will visit them. I am not employed as yet and so I have plenty of free time, though I am not technically minded, so I rely on Darlisa to update our site. Like our father, Jasper (who is also known as Jay), we have many interests, most including things we can create or fix. Dad is a handyman by profession, but before he hurt his back, along the time I was seven, he owned and operated his own auto repair shop, specializing in VWs. He had three employees, including our Mom, Doreen, who took care of selling parts. I and my friend DeSantis (and occasionally my two cousins Michael and Timothy) played in and among the remains of dead cars that had their permanent resting place in the back yard. This was because Dad had an auto repair shop behind our trailer and he sometimes used the old cars for spare parts. Anyway, now he does just about anything, electrical, plumbing, construction, you name it, he can do it. I learned how to paint from him as well as a few handyman things. He also taught me how to cook, which I enjoy doing as often as I can.

Well here is the list of my hobbies in no particular order:

  • Reading fiction and fantasy/sci fi fiction
  • Drawing- mainly horses, cats, flowers and people
  • Writing fiction
  • Making things out of clay, natural and polymer- figurines and beads
  • Making jewelry out of beads and natural stone
  • Creating in 3D
  • Playing computer and Nintendo games
  • Teasing Truffles
  • Singing and making up songs, with or without Rocky - my zebra finch
  • Arrowhead hunting
  • Antique-ing and looking for deals in garage sales and thrift stores
  • Collecting interesting rocks and fossils
  • Making up silly and nonsensical jokes
  • Building a small primitive castle on our parents land, I have been working on it since I was twelve
  • Exploring the hills and creeks of New Market, Alabama
  • One of my hobbies used to be following and playing with our goats and pulling down young trees to give them a treat, but since we sold them all this is no longer possible. I named all but two of the goats born in a period of nine years, over twenty goats in all. Feeding and looking after them were never a chore, they were as family to me and I miss them all.
