Applying a Procedural Granite Texture

Use Procedural Granite Texture:

Left-clicking on the Use Procedural Granite Texture button applies the current granite texture to the object.

Granite Settings:

Right-clicking on the Granite button brings up the granite settings panel. The settings shown are the default texture shown in the above table cell.

Changing colors, intensity & transparency:

Left-clicking on the small color squares brings up the color panel for that color where you can change the color, intensity, and transparency for it.

Amount: The Amount field sets the "relative quantity" of the various speckles which make up the texture. If you zoom in on the sphere, you'll see tons of little speckles, each made up of the four colors. This field has a range of 0 to 1.
Scale:

Scale sets the size of the speckles along the x, y, and z-axes. This image shows Color 1 scaled X with a value of 0.  This field has a range of 0 to 10.

Sharpness: Sharpness is basically the amount of each color brought into focus. This field has a range of 0 to 1, the default being 1.
Examples:
Sharpness = 0; 0.05; 0.15; 0.3; 0.7
The Procedurals 2 deals page deals with using procedural marble textures. (I broke up the procedurals part into three parts to minimize long download times because of the graphics)
