Truffles slept for a long time. Every once in a
while he heard a car drive by, but none of them were the one he was
waiting for. He stretched and curled up again and went back to
sleep. Finally, after at least several hours (he was sure it was at
least that long), he heard a car pull into the driveway. His ear
twitched. The engine was knocking so he knew it had to be her car.
Truffles slowly got up and stretched and finally looked out the window.
It wouldn't do to look too eager. |
